Apollo 13 is one of my favorite movies. I have a relatively large number of friends who are engineers or engineer-adjacent for someone whose career is in the arts. (Stick with me, my story gets better.) Almost 100% of them will tell you that their favorite part in the movie is the “We have to make this [CO2 scrubber, square] fit into the hole made for this [CO2 scrubber, cylindrical], using nothing but that [pile of random spaceflight objects].”*
